One of the world’s largest companies and the leader in the field of semiconductor chip makers envisioned to set up a unique top down construction methodology for their new office building in India. The challenges had just begun with the building construction and interiors works to be completed in tandem. The brief provided by the client was to build a world class facility whose interiors were heavily influenced by the Indian culture and yet be a global corporate workplace.
The conception of the project started with the focus on the central knuckle space of the building. The building spans with 2 wings of the workspace and comes together at a single point of convergencein the knuckle. The 10-storeyed knuckle space was designed with varied themes to promote collaboration both horizontally and vertically. The workspaces were kept at its original form to deliver the intent of focused workspace. To target the design in selected area and hence infuse into the larger original scheme was the overall though process.

The character of the knuckle is to be treated to add life and vitality to the corporate tower. Conceptually, all 10 floors are treated individually to have strong transitioning character. Reflective mirror element has been used on the ground floor ceiling that transitions through explaining the values of the company. Each of the floors interiors drew inspirations from various Indian themes like the national flower, national animal, Indian art and culture. The central core of the structure where the melting point of collaborative design schemes which varied from each floor to reflect the activity-based designs. The theme of these collaborative areas was influenced by the activity, utility and technology that brought in a diverse user patterns.
The building was designed to achieve platinum rating along with its world class interior designs. This was a conscious step towards representing the tomorrow in workplace strategy today. The name of the company being the largest brand needed no other effort to represent the brand within the interior designs.
There was a time when ‘dingy, gloomy and claustrophobic’ were the words used to describe an office in India. However, today entrepreneurs as well as designers are aware about the importance of workspace environments on company’s growth cycle and global image. The design concept revolved around “ BEING THE CONTEMPORARY INDIAN “ and resulted in achieving the futuristic designs schemes rooted in the rich heritage of modern Indian culture.
